I’ve touched Caernarfon castle

I really wanted to visit Wales and see some castles. In Spring of 2013 my dream came true. I visited Caernarfon Castle and I took the opportunity to stand in the platform where Prince Charles was invested as Prince of Wales in 1969.

My trip was originally just London but I decided to swing by other countries in Europe, I went to Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Ireland. Since my British friend knew how much I wanted to see castles he suggested I should travel to Wales. So, I took a ferry from Dublin to Holly head and it was quite an experience taking the ferry for 5 hours to get to Great Britain. I have to be honest at that time I didn’t know where I was in the map let alone know what’s my next step, I just rely with my British friend’s guide.

My friend didn’t disappoint me he took me to Caernarfon castle which is considered as one of the greatest attractions in Wales. As soon as I saw it I was jaw dropped, I couldn’t stop taking pictures outside I was dilated on the joys of seeing the castle in real. I couldn’t help myself but take a picture of me jumping outside the gate.

I didn’t want to miss the chance to see the view of the entire village upstairs. Although it wasn’t easy to go upstairs climbing through the narrow spiral stairs, some parts were even dark, it was worth the trouble. I thought I may never be able to come back to Caernarfon again so I persevered and made it to the top.

Before leaving the castle I stood in the platform where Prince Charles was invested as Prince of Wales. And in that moment I felt I’ve touched the prince … I stood there for couple of minutes and just try to feel what was it like many many years ago.

If only these stoned walls can talk surely it will tell me many great stories. I stood there for a while trying to understand what it was like during the 13th century.

Caernarfon Castle. I’ve been to many places but this is one of the best places on earth I’ve visited. I took so many pictures but still couldn’t get enough of it.
