The city of Paris

Suspect…suspect! That was the only word I understood from the people walking on the streets on my way to the tower from Bir Hakiem station.

It was so surreal, I was in Paris days after the tragic Charlie Hebdo massacre. It was already dark when  I arrived at the Eiffel, people were stuck on the other side of the road and we cannot cross because the police officers cordoned the area.

Hundreds of cars and tourists were stuck in the area, honking their cars  here and there and at least a dozen military officers were there in the area pushing people away from the tower. I was scared but because I travelled so far I was not willing to give up and go home without getting close to the tower. I decided to stay for a little while until the streets were opened for us and decided to do a little reporting about it using my iPhone.

The first time I came to Eiffel was at night and this time I came at night as well so most of my pictures of this tower are dark. I came back the next day on my way to Chateau de Versailles and I got pictures at daylight. While it’s still damp and gloomy at least I have a different background. Paris was cold and windy not a good time to travel in January but that was the only time I can go for vacation.

This tower indeed has a special power. Despite the fact that I am not a fan of the city and was not excited to see the tower for the second time, I was surprised when they lit it I was like a child giggling as I see how beautiful this structure is..She is so beautiful.
